Texas football: Twitter Reacts to a 50-48 Win Over Kansas

Texas fans and those around the program took to social media early and often to react to the Longhorns' 50-48 win over the Kansas Jayhawks.
While those watching at home with no ties to either team would have to call this an objectively-good football game, Texas fans weren't all that thrilled to be in a thriller with the 2-5 Jayhawks, a team that had been outscored 96-34 in their two previous games.
Kansas finishes with 569 total yards. Texas still on pace to have the worst defense statistically in school history.

There's no reason for Texas to be ranked next week. They will be, but there's no reason for them to be.

After this game, this is arguably the worst Texas defense in team history. It’s nearly the worst in college football. https://t.co/hnbmW6XIfG

Is our defense worse than OUs was last year?

Former Longhorn Jerrod Herd tried to calm the masses.
A win is a win, so chill out

Of course, there was also praise for Cameron Dicker, the man who saved the Longhorns' bid for a Big 12 title for at least another week.
Some of these feelings are justified for Longhorn fans and some come with emotion and a couple of adult beverages. For now, only two things are for sure.
- Texas managed to pull out a win when the momentum was all in favor of its opponent.
- The Longhorns still have a lot of work to do on defense.
