Steve Sarkisian Explains Importance Of Being 'Obsessed'

The Texas Longhorns head coach has a chance to establish Texas as one of college football's most dominant teams.

For well over a decade, the Texas Longhorns were working to return to the success that they were once seemingly having every year.

In 2023, they finally were able to return to that high level of play, but now they need to make that a constant, rather than a flash in the pan. Something that head coach Steve Sarkisian revealed to the media is all about having the right mindset for everything they do moving forward.

The right mindsight and motivation come down to one word according to Sarkisian, who expressed that they need to be "obsessed".

"I think being obsessed is, you've got to love what you do," said Sarkisian. "You're obsessed with what you love to do. You have confidence in what you're doing. You do it in the absence of fear. You're committed to the cause. You're committed to what you're doing. Ultimately, the positive of that is you're striving toward something and are committed to it."

The goal in question that Texas is striving for is a championship in 2024, and while everyone hopes to win one it is only a reality for a few.

The Longhorns happen to be one of the dozen teams that can win a title, and they came within one game of doing so in 2023.

The culture reset instilled by Sarkisian is a major reason for this, and if all of the talented players that they brought in are able to buy into his messages and teachings, there isn't a team in the country that they won't be able to beat.
