Texas Lands Commitment From Five-Star WR Ryan Wingo

In this story:
Texas has been hot on the recruiting trail in the 2024 cycle, and somehow it seems like they haven't even come close to reaching their apex.
On top of nabbing elite commits like five-star EDGE Colin Simmons and five-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker, the Longhorns were able to add a third five-star on Wednesday. Five-star receiver Ryan Wingo announced his commitment to the Longhorns after having been projected to end up at Missouri by 247Sports' Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong as well as three other insiders.
This is a monster win for Texas, especially when you consider that they were able to pry Wingo out of Missouri as he is a St. Louis native.
In Wingo, the Longhorns are getting a player that 247Sports ranks as the No. 5 player in the country, the No. 2 wide receiver, and the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri who has drawn comparisons from 247Sports' Allen Trieu to Deebo Samuel.
Prior to the addition of Wingo, Texas' class ranked as the No. 16 class in the country but adding their third five-star and 19th commitment overall in the class of 2024 is expected to boost their class all the way up to No. 13 in the country.
Wingo provides Texas another weapon at wide receiver, as they are projected to lose Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell, Jordan Whittington, and Ja'Tavion Sanders to the NFL after this season. He along with Johntay Cook II, Isaiah Neyor, and someone like Casey Cain or DeAndre Moore will need to step up in 2024.
