In this story:

The 2023 NFL Draft nearly came and went for Texas Longhorns defensive lineman Moro Ojomo. But after three days of waiting, the Philadelphia Eagles selected him 11 picks before the end of the draft at pick No. 249.

Prior to the screams of joy from his family in the background, the sigh of relief and emotion could be heard in Ojomo's voice when general manager Howie Roseman told him the good news. The Eagles shared the phone conversation on Twitter after the draft.

The Eagles capped off their successful draft with Ojomo, adding him to a defensive line that will also feature first-round rookies Nolan Smith and Jalen Carter. Ojomo will have some stout competition on the d-line during his first year in the league.

At 6-2 and 293 pounds, Ojomo played 41 career games at Texas, posting 6.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles. He was the fifth and final Longhorn selected in the 2023 draft, joining running back Bijan Robinson (No. 8 to Atlanta Falcons), linebacker DeMarvion Overshown (No. 90 to Dallas Cowboys), running back Roschon Johnson (No. 115 to Chicago Bears) and defensive tackle Keondre Coburn (No. 194 to Kansas City Chiefs).
