It can often be hard to tell just how much hype is worth placing in the outcomes of a spring game, as after all, it is a game against yourself.

Whether the offense torches the defense or the defense stifles the offense, it is best to exercise some caution after a strong spring game performance.

'Some' being the keyword, of course, as it is still reasonable to be excited with what you see on the field. For the Texas Longhorns, the first team offense was firing on all cylinders in Saturday's Orange-White game which saw White win 21-10.

Quarterback Quinn Ewers erased all doubt that he's the guy for Steve Sarkisian this fall, finishing the day completing 16-of-23 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown. However, perhaps even more exciting was the performance from his trio of receivers.

The trio of Xavier Worthy, Jordan Whittington, and AD Mitchell torched the defense en route to a combined 200 receiving yards and one touchdown on 15 receptions.

Ewers and Worthy showed off the deep ball connection early as they connected on a 46-yard downfield strike, with Worthy just stepping out instead of walking in for what would've been an easy touchdown.

After struggling to connect on the deep ball last season, and Sarkisian making that a point of emphasis this spring, the two connecting on the deep ball will be the key to fully unlocking the Longhorns' offense.

While Worthy took the top off the defense, Whittington often found himself targeted by Ewers over the middle and showcased his ability to rack up yards after the catch after making several defenders miss.

Stealing the show, though, was Georgia transfer AD Mitchell as it was abundantly obvious what he'll bring to the Texas offense. He and Ewers connected on Ewers' lone touchdown, a one-handed snag that set Twitter ablaze.

If Ewers and his trio of receivers come out this fall with this much chemistry they have the potential to be one of college football's best offenses.

Even better for the Longhorns they also have Isaiah Neyor, who is still recovering from a torn ACL, and tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders, who was quiet on Saturday, to factor in and make the offense that much more lethal.

There was plenty of hype surrounding the Longhorns' receiver room coming out of spring practice, and they lived up to it in the Orange-White game.

Now all that's left is showing out this fall and torching opposing defenses.
