Washington Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. had a short, but interesting response when asked Thursday what he remembers about beating the Texas Longhorns in the Alamo Bowl last season.

No. 3 Texas (12-1) will face Penix and No. 2 Washington (13-0) in the College Football Playoff Semifinals at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on New Year's Day.

"I don't remember nothing, I just remember winning," Penix said with a straight face.

Take a look at the video, per King 5 News' Jake Garcia:

While Penix certainly isn't wrong, as Washington controlled most of that game en route to a 27-20 win, there appears to be some fiery motivation behind his short-worded comments. Many players might default to the typical "they're a good team" comments when talking about the upcoming opponent, regardless of whether or not there's some bad blood behind the scenes.

But not Penix, which makes things all the more interesting leading up to the game.

Texas Facing Elite, But Overlooked Washington RB Dillon Johnson in CFP

Penix, who currently leads the country with 4,218 passing yards, finished second in the Heisman voting behind LSU's Jayden Daniels.

He led Washington a Pac-12 title and an undefeated season and will now face a Texas team that managed to hold him somewhat in check in the Alamo Bowl, at least compared to his elite standards.

Penix went 32 of 54 passing (59.3 percent) for 287 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in that win over the Longhorns. The passing yardage marked his second-lowest single-game total of last season, but much of that can be attributed to a Washington ground game that gashed Texas with 158 rushing yards.

However, all of that is in the past, both teams will look to rewrite their program's history books on Monday, Jan. 1 at 7:45 p.m. CT.
