Texas Longhorns vs. No. 14 Iowa State Cyclones: Preview, Betting Odds, How to Watch

In this story:
AUSTIN -- The Texas Longhorns will play their sixth straight ranked opponent on Tuesday night at the Moody Center when they host the No. 14 Iowa State Cyclones.
Texas (15-7, 4-5 Big 12) has gone 3-2 through the first five contests of the six-game ranked stretch, which will end on Tuesday. This included a 77-66 win over then-No. 25 TCU on Saturday.
Iowa State (16-5, 5-3) lost a 70-68 heartbreaker to then-No. 18 Baylor on Saturday. Cyclones freshman forward Milan Momcilovic appeared to bank in a game-winning triple at the buzzer from just inside the logo, but replay showed that the ball was still in his hands when the clock hit zero.
"Iowa State, one of the best teams in the country," Texas coach Rodney Terry said. "Top 15 team in the country. TJ's (Otzelberger) done a really good job with his group this year."
Iowa State is led by its pair of guards, with UNLV transfer Keshon Gilbert pacing the team at 14.2 points per game. Tamin Lipsey is proving to be one of the best guards in the country this season, as he's averaging 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, a team-high 5.6 assists, and 3.0 steals, which is currently the third-most in the country.
Texas guard Tyrese Hunter began his collegiate career at Iowa State, and Tuesday will mark the third matchup against his former team. In the first two meetings vs. the Cyclones, the Longhorns are 1-1 with Hunter averaging 12.5 points per game in those contests.
Fortunately for the Longhorns, they don't have to face the hostile crowd in Ames for their final season in the Big 12 and instead have a shot at securing a fifth Quad 1 win at home.
