FINAL: Texas Longhorns Beatdown Oklahoma State 49-21 in Big-12 Championship

The Texas Longhorns will look to complete their farewell tour with a win in the Big-12 conference championship game over the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

It is gameday in Arlington, as the No. 7 Texas Longhorns are set to face the No. 19 Oklahoma State Cowboys in their final Big-12 championship before moving to the SEC.

In a Big-12 farewell tour that has seen the Longhorns produce their best record, 12-1, since the days of coach Mack Brown and Colt McCoy back in 2009, winning the program's first conference title since then could be a storybook sendoff for Texas as they join the SEC this coming offseason.

However, that can be easier said than done as the Longhorns face a Cowboys team that, despite not playing each other in the regular season, still shares a lot of familiarity.

“At this point, at this stage, we’ve been on this kick all year, we’ve been focused on what we need to do and being enamored with what we need to do," Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said. "I think in a unique way it’s kind of fitting that we’re playing Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship Game, knowing we didn’t get an opportunity to play each other in the regular season."

In recent years the Cowboys have proved to be a troublesome opponent for the Longhorns. In their last eight meetings, the Longhorns have been bested by Oklahoma State six times, which includes a two-game winning streak for the Cowboys.

Other than UCF and Cincinnati, two of the four newest entries into the Big-12, Oklahoma State is the only conference opponent that the Longhorns have yet to beat under Sarkisian.

The Longhorns will look to change that as they face off with Oklahoma State for the Big-12 conference championship inside AT&T Stadium.
