OFFICIAL: Longhorns Sign DT Melvin Hills III

In this story:
AUSTIN - The Texas Longhorns added another name to their quickly growing 2024 class on Wednesday morning, with three-star defensive tackle Melvin Hills signing with the program.
Hills picked the Horns over Ole Miss, LSU and Auburn. And at the end of the day, Hills liked everything that the program had to offer, including their ability to get him to the next level.
“Everything,” Hills told On3's Hayes Fawcett. “I really wanted to commit after I met coach Bo and coach Sark. They really showed they were interested and they were honest. The coaches showed they were really about family. When I visited I talked to the players and they were telling me about their experience and why they committed. Plus, they have a good amount of boot babies that’s thriving at Texas and I feel I can be the next best thing over there. Coach Bo will make me a 1st round draft pick and I highly believe that.”
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Lafayette, LA product currently ranks as a three-star recruit, and the No. 18 player in Louisiana.
He now joins a Horns class that has ascended into the top five in the country over the last few weeks, and adds toa stellar defensive line haul.
