ONE LINER

A pocket passer quarterback who can move the chains with his feet when needed but excels in the short-to-intermediate passing attack; gained valuable experience in 2021, playing in nine games.

EVALUATION

An experienced signal-caller with poise and pocket presence, Krajewski can make all the throws—it’s the consistency in which he makes them. The Michigan native will throw a dart right on the money one play and then miss the easy pass on the next play. Entering his fourth season in Storrs, he will need to improve upon his accuracy. He possesses sound mechanics and his upper body/lower body seem to be in sync—Krajewski just needs to find his rhythm. He enters 2022 in an open competition for the starting quarterback job.

QUOTABLE

“Steven has grown tremendously in terms of mental. There’s not an aspect of this offense that Steven doesn’t understand. Through this time, I think Steven has started to gain a lot of confidence in his arm and his ability to make throws, throw the ball on time and all that good stuff. Steven is a really, really competitive kid. This past spring, we were going live with the quarterbacks and Steven absolutely loved running over everybody and all those kind of things.” —Former UConn quarterback coach Mike Moyseenko to the Hartford Courant (09/07/21).

BACKGROUND

In 2021, played nine games, passing for 1,217 yards and seven touchdowns, adding 173 rushing yards, along with three scores via the ground. In 2019, appeared in four games, gaining 292 passing yards and one touchdowns. As a senior in high school, was named team captain, guiding his team to state championship; threw for 2,962 passing yards with 30 touchdowns, along with 460 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns at Colquitt County. Majoring in communications.
