Armando Bacot, who became the UNC basketball program's all-time leading rebounder as a senior center in Chapel Hill, needed this season, his fifth, to reach 2,000 career points. Teammate RJ Davis might not.

The 22-year-old senior guard, frontrunner for ACC Player of the Year, is at 1,870 following his frigid 12-point performance (1-for-14 from the field) in then-No. 10 UNC's 54-44 road win over unranked Virginia on Saturday.

And there are four contests remaining on the Tar Heels' regular slate, with the potential for nine more between the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament. So, even if UNC played only six more games due to early March Madness exits, Davis could achieve the 2,000 feat by averaging 21.7 points per game from here on out.

That would be on par with the durable bucket-getter's ACC-leading season average of 21.0 points per game through 27 outings for the ACC-leading Tar Heels (21-6, 13-3 ACC).

He currently sits No. 11 on UNC's all-time scoring list, needing only 43 more points to pass No. 10 Brad Daugherty (1,912):

Until RJ Davis adds 130 more to his count, the Tar Heels' 2,000-point club consists of seven names: Tyler Hansbrough (2,872), Phil Ford (2,290), Armando Bacot (2,198), Sam Perkins (2,145), Lennie Rosenbluth (2,047), Al Wood (2,015), and Charlie Scott (2,007).
