On Thursday afternoon, Perry High School (Ariz.) standout Koa Peat named a top 10 in his recruitment, per On3's Joe Tipton. The 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward included his UNC basketball suitors, unsurprisingly, along with Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, Kentucky, Michigan, Texas, UCLA, and the Tar Heels' archrival, Duke.

His list of offers had grown to more than 30.

Peat has held an offer from third-year UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis and his cohorts since April and took an official visit to Chapel Hill in early November, attending the Tar Heels' home win over Lehigh. His other official visits to date were to Michigan and Texas in September.

Here's a snippet of On3's scouting report on Peat, a five-star bruiser who is the son of former six-year NFL offensive lineman Todd Peat Sr. and sits at No. 5 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite:

"Koa Peat is a productive, physical presence. Despite his young age, he has good length and a very strong frame. He is an active rebounder in his area, chasing rebounds and securing the possessions. He pushes the break with a purpose, showing great balance and floor vision. Needs to develop the jump shot...

"He finishes well around the basket, has good footwork, and he finishes through contact. The production is hard to ignore."

Koa Peat is one of nine 2025 Tar Heel targets — all are composite five-star prospects and remain undecided — and one of four power forwards on that list.
