UNC Basketball Target Cementing Spot Atop Ranking

Prolific Prep (Calif.) junior AJ Dybantsa, who received an offer from UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis in late October, appears to be in no danger of falling from No. 1 on the 247Sports 2025 Composite. That's especially true in light of the five-star's recent performances.

Across his past three games for Prolific Prep, Dybantsa, who has drawn comparisons to Duke basketball product and Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum, has averaged 21.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 57 percent from the field and 79 percent at the charity stripe.

As Pistons Draft Talk noted in the following posted highlights on Monday, the 6-foot-9, 200-pound phenom forward "showcased his very lengthy frame, high level shot making abilities, playmaking chops and made some legit strides...Unbelievable scorer."

Thus far, Dybantsa has taken one official visit: to Southern Cal. He's eyeing another to Auburn in March and to Alabama next fall, per his recent chat with On3's Jamie Shaw.

There's no word yet on plans to check out the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill. But it's still relatively early in AJ Dybantsa's recruitment, as he has neither named favorites nor indicated a timeline for choosing his next-level destination.

He is one of nine on UNC basketball's 2025 wishlist. All nine are five-star prospects and stand among the top 20 in the class, per the composite rankings.

Seven of them sit inside the top 10, including all five of the top five in Dybantsa, Cameron Boozer, Darryn Peterson, Koa Peat, and Caleb Wilson.
