Chazz Surratt knew exactly why he'd been requested on Tuesday night for North Carolina's media availability with players, smiling as the questions came about his relationship with his brother Sage Surratt, a star wide receiver at Wake Forest.

"I’m going to try lay him out if I can," Surratt said. "My teammates have been asking me if I’m going to hit him or go hard or not, and I’m going to try to lay him out. I think the first time I see him out there, I’ll probably smile … once we get into the game, I think both of our competitiveness will take over and we’ll try to win and play hard."

Journalists around the state dove into the story of the record-breaking Surratt brothers, with Chazz owning the NCSHAA career record for overall touchdowns during his time at East Lincoln while Sage finished as the state's leader in receiving touchdowns, receiving yardage and receptions over his career at East Lincoln and Lincolnton.

Here's a sampling of stories this week on the Surratts:

Chapel Fowler of the Daily Tar Heel also caught up with UNC receiver Nick Quigley, who was a teammate of the brothers at East Lincoln.

In a conversation with Aaron Beard of the AP, Brandi Surratt says she told Chazz to tone down his excitement for hitting his younger brother.

Wake Forest beat writer Conor O'Neill of the Winston-Salem Journal reveals the trash talk between the siblings began during a heated mini-golf matchup on Father's Day.

Jonathan Alexander of the News & Observer got some great details of how competitive the brothers can be, going back to shooting hoops at home.

In a chat with Les Johns of Demon Deacon Digest, Sage says he's proud of how Chazz has transitioned from quarterback to linebacker.
