Woodberry Forest School (Va.) kicker Lucas Osada, who doubles as a punter, showed off his kicking prowess at a UNC football camp in June and committed to the Tar Heels later that month. And on Wednesday morning, the first day of the early signing period, he made his pledge official.

Osada, the lone kicker in UNC's class, ranks No. 3 at his position on the 247Sports 2024 Composite.

After receiving the 6-foot-1, 195-pound three-star's national letter of intent, the Tar Heels' social media team posted the following hype video and highlight mixtape to officially welcome him to the "Flight Club":

Here's what 247Sports recruiting analyst Don Callahan sees in Osada's kicking game:

"Being a combo kicker — able to realistically compete for kicking and punting duties, as well as kickoff — is a huge bonus with Osada. He's also developed a reputation for possessing a strong leg. On field goals, he didn't showcase that during his senior season, but he's nailed attempts as long as 62 yards in workouts.

"On punts, he averaged 42.8 yards as a senior while dropping seven of his 20 attempts inside the 20. He showed off his leg strength even more on kickoffs: 38 of his 44 attempts were booted into the end zone for touchbacks."

The 2024 UNC football recruiting haul ranks No. 26 in the country and No. 4 in the ACC. It consists of 27 signees, tied with Miami for the most in the conference.
