In April, Mill Creek High School (Ga.) offensive lineman Aidan Banfield committed to the Tar Heels over two of their rivals, NC State and Duke, as well as several others from the ACC. Now, he's an official 2024 UNC football prize, having inked his national letter of intent on Wednesday.

Banfield, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound three-star prospect, sits at No. 998 overall, No. 75 at his position, and No. 115 among Georgia preps on the 247Sports 2024 Composite.

The Tar Heels revealed his signing on social media, officially welcoming the bruiser to the "Flight Club" via the following posted hype video and best-blocks mixtape:

Here's a 247Sports assessment of Aidan Banfield's weapons in the trenches:

"Banfield is a twitchy, nimble offensive guard, who played against elite competition in high school. Due to his quick footwork, he effortlessly blocks in space and will string a couple of blocks together while working his way down the field. The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder isn't a mauler but does use a jolting initial punch."

UNC football enjoys its largest class in 15 years. The 27 signees comprise the nation's 26th best haul, ranking No. 4 among ACC schools behind Miami, Florida State, and Clemson.
