West Forsyth High School (N.C.) offensive lineman and team captain Desmond Jackson is a 6-foot-5, 310-pound three-star prospect who has been committed to UNC football head coach Mack Brown and his staff since January. And he signed his national letter of intent with the Tar Heels earlier this week.

Jackson, who is also a heavyweight wrestler for his school, sits at No. 874 overall, No. 63 at his position, and No. 28 in North Carolina on the 247Sports 2024 Composite.

The Tar Heels revealed his signing by posting the following "Flight Club" hype video and a highlight package of some of his best blocks as a prep:

Here's a brief evaluation of Jackson from 247Sports' Don Callahan:

"Though a high school left tackle, Jackson's future is inside at guard where his core strength and broad 6-foot-5, 310-pound base will be at a premium. He's at his best driving opponents out of the run lane. Meanwhile, his pass pro experience on the edge — where he's shown an ability to slide and shuffle with speed rushers — will be an asset inside."

Desmond Jackson is part of a historically deep UNC football recruiting class. The 27 signees, the most for the program in 15 years, ranks No. 26 in the country and No. 4 in the ACC.
