UNC football commit TyShun White, who has also shined on the track and basketball court at Buford High School (Ga.), signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday. The elite prospect joins Malcolm Ziglar and fellow Georgia native Jaiden Patterson as the three composite four-star safeties who highlight the Tar Heels' 2024 class.

White, No. 358 overall and No. 39 at his position on the 247Sports 2024 Composite, announced his commitment to head coach Mack Brown and his staff on the Fourth of July after taking an official visit to Chapel Hill in June.

After receiving his national letter of intent this week, the UNC football program posted the following highlights to officially welcome him to the Tar Heel family:

Here's a recent evaluation of TyShun White's strengths as a disruptor in the secondary, courtesy of 247Sports' Don Callahan:

"At 5-foot-11, 184 pounds, White is a compactly-built, in-the-box safety who plays with a lot of emotion and energy. He’s at his best in run support — he explodes to the ball carrier and converts his speed to power upon contact. But, he has the ball skills to make plays in zone coverage."

UNC's 27-deep 2024 collection sits at No. 26 in the country, for now, per the 247Sports composite team ranking.
