USC Basketball: Trojans Make Cut Of Top 5 Selects For Elite Transfer

New head coach Eric Musselman is essentially rebuilding the USC Trojans from scratch.

The former Arkansas Razorbacks head coach (who now has been supplanted in that position by one of the NCAA's other top recruiters, ex-Kentucky head coach John Calipari) has apparently already made USC one of the favorites to land soon-to-be-ex-George Mason guard Keyshawn Hall. Now, the club has emerged as one of the five top teams set to nab senior Northern Kentucky guard Marques Warrick, per Joe Tipton of On3.

Cincinnati, Missouri, Penn State and Seton Hall are said to be the other contenders. At least USC has all those spots beaten with its weather!

The four-time All-Horizon League honoree became the most prolific scorer in the history of the Norse's basketball program. This past year, the 6'2" upperclassman posted averages of 19.9 points on 42.5% shooting from the floor and 86.7% shooting from the foul line, 2.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per contest.

All nine of former USC head coach Andy Enfield's top players from the club's forgettable 15-18 2023-24 season are now jumping ship, either by transferring, graduating, or declaring for the NBA draft (and, in one memorable case, both). Musselman has a clean slate, and nowhere to go but up.
