USC Basketball: Trojans Reportedly in Final Four for Transfer Guard

Can Musselman land this talented player?

New USC head coach Eric Musselman knows a thing or two about rebuilding through the transfer portal.

At both Arkansas and Nevada, he took teams chock-full of transfers and turned them into legitimate title contenders. His player development skills -- which date back to his pedigree as an NBA coach -- have enabled him to expedite a process that normally would be difficult to navigate.

After landing Penn guard Clark Slajchert, Musselman is back in the portal -- this time hoping to land a very talented player in Keyshawn Hall.

The 6'7" Ohio native played this past year at George Mason. He averaged 16.6 PPG and 8.1 RPG. He shot over 47 percent from the field, and a respectable 35.7 percent from three.

Hall is reportedly down to four schools: USC, Michigan State, UCF and Arkansas. Stylistically, he's a near-perfect fit for Musselman ball. Hall can get up and down the court seamlessly in transition. He's a versatile player, functioning as both a guard and a forward.

Musselman developed two players -- Cody and Caleb Martin -- with very similar skill sets. It's not surprising to learn that he helped them become NBA players.

USC needs bodies in the worst way right now, and there's a real opportunity for Hall to come in and immediately become a focal point within this team.

Despite being from Cleveland, he does have some experience out West. Hall played at UNLV as a freshman before leaving to come back closer to home.

Michigan State figures to be stiff competition, and no one can count out John Calipari when it comes to the world of recruiting. However, when factoring in available playing time, the university as a whole, and Musselman's system, USC stands a real chance to land Hall.
