USC star guard Boogie Ellis has declared for the NBA draft. The Trojans men's basketball team's official X account shared the news:

The three-year Trojan averaged 15.5 points per game, 2.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 95 career games with USC, all of which he started. Ellis shot 42.7% from the field and 41.8% from the three-point line.

Ellis transferred to Southern California from the University of Memphis. In March 2021, Ellis entered the transfer portal and, a couple of weeks later, announced his decision to become a Trojan. At USC, he was named first-team All-Pac-12 in 2023 and second-team All-Pac-12 in 2024.

The 23-year-old is projected to be a late second-round or potentially undrafted G League player. Sportskeeda says his NBA comparison is former Los Angeles Lakers guard and champion Jordan Farmar, who enjoyed a 10-year pro career after starring for a rival Pac-12 (then a Pac-10) program, UCLA. If Ellis could have a Farmar-type career for himself, it would have been a pretty successful one.

We wish Ellis the best in his next journey and thank him for his time at USC. Fight On!
