USC Basketball: Dick Vitale Lists Trojans Among Top 20 Preseason Teams

In this story:

The USC Trojans basketball program has grown immensely over the last few years. Since head coach Andy Enfield took over, the Trojans have become a respected unit in the college game.

The team has sent multiple players to the NBA, and they are gearing up for what should be a very successful year coming up. They had a strong recruiting class, and the Trojans are ready to make some noise in the Pac-12 conference.

One of the most respected voices in college basketball today is Dick Vitale. He has been around the sport for as long as anyone can remember, and he knows the game very well.

He recently listed the Trojans as a top-20 team in his preseason top-25 rankings for ESPN.com. This is high praise coming from the legend and something that the Trojans should be proud of.

The team will also have more eyes on them, as Bronny James will be a part of the program this season. The son of NBA legend LeBron James has some real hype surrounding him.

He did suffer a cardiac arrest a while back unfortunately and it still is under question whether he will play this season. We are all hoping that he can return to the court, but his overall health is what is most important.

USC came in right at number 20 on his list, but this puts them in a good spot entering the season. Vitale eats, breathes and lives college basketball, so his opinion does mean something here.

The Trojans still need to go out and prove that they belong with the elites. The games aren’t played on paper, so USC needs to make sure they execute this season.

As Vitale would say the best, "It's awesome, baby!"
