USC Football: Bears Defensive End Weighs In On Likely Caleb Williams Draft Pick

The talk of the upcoming NFL Draft has been about former USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams and rightfully so. He is expected to be the first overall selection in the draft by the Chicago Bears, giving them a franchise quarterback to build around.

Williams has all the tools and skills needed to become a quality starting quarterback at the NFL level, but he will need to prove himself in the league. He won't be able to just come in easily based on what he did in college. He will be playing against grown men, who will be looking to knock him down a peg as the year goes on.

Bears' defensive end Montez Sweat opened up about the possibility of Chicago drafting him, giving the young quarterback some advice for entering the league.

"Be yourself. Don't try to do it all overnight and just stay humble. Don't try to do it all by yourself, you got a great group of guys around you."

Williams will need to show that he can be successful playing in the league. Nobody in the NFL cares what he did at the college level and he will need to replicate his success to begin earning respect.

The Bears have already started to build around the idea of Williams, trading for wide receiver Keenan Allen to pair alongside D.J. Moore. If Williams can trust his instincts and not try to do too much, he should be a very successful player for years to come.
