USC Football: Former NFL GM Believes Caleb Williams Will Put Up Similar Numbers to Young AFC Star QB

The USC Trojans will be all the talk at the start of the upcoming NFL Draft due to former quarterback Caleb Williams. Williams is expected to be taken first overall by the Chicago Bears, giving them a true franchise quarterback to build around.

After two strong seasons with the Trojans, Williams is one of the more highly-anticipated quarterbacks to enter the NFL in a long time. He has all the skills needed to compete at the highest level but will now need to prove himself to the league.

One former NFL general manager believes that Williams could put up similar numbers to what rookie CJ Stroud did last season for the Houston Texans. If Williams were able to replicate that, it would be an incredible year.

The Bears have set themselves up well for the arrival of Williams, acquiring veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers. They also have bolstered their offensive line a little bit and have prioritized building a better defense as well.

While nobody likely will believe that the Bears will instantly become contenders, Chicago could surprise some people and compete for the postseason. Williams is a special talent and if he can perform, the Bears have the pieces around him to succeed. The former Trojans signal-caller has the buzz around him that many legendary talents did, giving thought to what he could ultimately become at some point.
