USC Icon Sees Exceptional Qualities in Caleb Williams, Beyond This NFL MVP

High praise indeed.

Legendary Heisman Trophy- and BCS National Championship-winning USC Trojans running back Reggie Bush, now a Fox Sports college football analyst, is such a fan of current USC quarterback Caleb Williams, himself the reigning Heisman winner, that he believes the junior QB is more athletic than reigning Super Bowl champ and MVP Patrick Mahomes, generally considered to be the best player in the game.

According to Sam Schube of GQ, Bush believes that Williams actually has a bit of an edge in one very important department: athleticism.

"The thing that I think is different between Caleb and Patrick is, Caleb is an explosive athlete," Bush said.

"He's an explosive runner with the football. Mahomes is not an explosive runner with the football. Mahomes is creative, he's crafty, he'll buy some time, he'll get you a first down—but Caleb can take it to the house."

Though he's still just 27, Mahomes is already a two-time Super Bowl winner and Super Bowl MVP, a two-time regular season MVP, three All-Pro teams and five Pro Bowl Teams.

Williams has been magnificent in the early goings of the 2023-24 season. It's insane to think that he very well could still have room to grow.
