USC Football: Insider Offers Rave Review For Star Trojan

A bright spot in an otherwise ugly win.

Trojans running back Marshawn Lloyd showed his skills in the team's ugly week four win to open 2023 conference play.

The junior consistently gashed the Sun Devils' defense on the ground and proved to be a playmaker on the field for Lincoln Riley's otherwise subpar offensive showing.

"The handoff fumble was more Caleb Williams’ fault for not putting the ball in the right place (the gut as opposed to the chest). Lloyd was the one Trojan who really was outstanding throughout the night. He was a beast. Lincoln Riley’s flunk-level coaching performance included not feeding Lloyd more often."

Originally a Gamecock, the former South Carolina product rushed for nearly 150 yards on just 14 carries in the gutty victory for USC's roster.

Many of Lloyd's teammates struggled on both sides of the ball, yet the Delaware native proved his stardom with a dominant performance on the ground.

Much of the spotlight normally shines on Caleb Williams, but the variance in USC's offense through Lloyd's production only stands to benefit their national title pursuits.

Colorado is up next on the Trojans' schedule and new head coach Deion Sanders likely wants to play spoiler off of his team's disappointing Week 4 showing.

The Buffaloes dropped from the top 25 altogether thanks to Oregon's dominant showing against them at home.

Polarizing many across the college football landscape, Sanders' team is eager to bounce back from their embarrassing showing after their equally undefeated start.

The Trojans also dropped in the AP polls from fifth to eighth and now lag behind Washington as the best Pac-12 team in the nation.

Affected on an individual and team level to the Huskies, USC seeks redemption against college football's biggest story in what could be a fireworks show this weekend.
