USC Football: Reporter Predicts How Trojans Will Fare Against Spread Vs Arizona

In this story:
Once your USC Trojans’ game against Colorado ended last Saturday in a 48-41 USC victory, many believed what they already assumed about the USC defense. Entering the season, the common theme was whether or not the USC defense could hold up their end of the bargain this season, and the game against Colorado showed everyone what they needed to know.
USC couldn’t stop anything that the Buffalos did, and at times they looked lost out on the field. It almost saw them blow a massive lead to Colorado, and it seems that the defense will remain a problem this year after all.
Now the Trojans get a home game against Arizona before they have two tough back-to-back games against Notre Dame and Utah. But the Wildcats aren’t going to back down in this matchup, despite how much of a favorite USC is in the game.
Antonio Morales of The Athletic sees this game being much closer than what the spread says, in part due to the Wildcats offense.
“USC has won every game at home by at least 28 points. The spread for this one is 21.5 points, according to BetMGM. I believe USC will win by two scores, but it should be a competitive game because Arizona’s offense has enough playmakers to keep the game close, similar to last season. Quarterback Noah Fifita had an ugly interception last week but is not as reckless with the ball as Jayden de Laura, which could help prevent a game like this from getting away from the Wildcats.”
Per Antonio Morales of The Athletic
The Trojans are going to have to come in prepared for this Arizona team. They also took down Washington last week, and they will make life tough for USC in this one.
Even if the Trojans win the game, they have to look good doing so. You can’t just win games in college football, and they know that how you win is as big as actually winning the game in the eyes of the College Football Committee.
The Trojans can’t overlook the Wildcats, and if they do, their dreams of an undefeated season could go up in flames very quickly.
