As long as Lincoln Riley is the leading man in charge of USC's football program, the Trojans will have zero problems attracting high-end skill talent to Los Angeles.

As we've seen early in 2023, Riley knows a thing or two about utilizing his receivers -- particularly the young pups within the room. Two games in, and the Trojans have already featured true freshmen pass-catching threats in Zachariah Branch, Duce Robinson, and Ja'Kobi Lane.

In a few years, Ja'Myron Baker hopes to follow in their footsteps.

The talented 2026 receiver out of Los Alamitos High School committed to the Trojans over the weekend. As a sophomore, he reportedly held offers from Colorado, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and the Trojans.

The 6-foot-1 deep threat was reportedly the first receiver USC offered in the class of 2026. As a freshman last year, he was a favorite target of current USC QB Malachi Nelson.

Baker spoke about his commitment with Greg Biggins of 247Sports:

"I've always wanted to go to USC so I didn't see any reason to hold off. I've been thinking about doing this for a bit and the timing just felt right to me. The thing with USC is Lincoln Riley is the QB Whisperer. He always has great quarterbacks and I love his offense. With coach Riley there, you know there will always be a great quarterback to get you the ball and the offense is a great fit for me."

Baker is a very fluid athlete. Adding to his appeal as a prospect, he can play both ways. Los Alamitos is considered a premier high school in the Southland, and the fact that Baker starred as both a receiver/corner as a high school freshman is currently a testament to his talent.

USC has to be excited about the start of its '26 class despite it being years away from stepping foot into the Coliseum. Along with Baker, top QB 2026 prospect Julian Lewis decided to commit a few weeks ago.

Baker further elaborated on his future with the program:

"I'm excited to help build this class and with Julian Lewis already committed, I think we could do some special things."
