We are just one week away from the first weekend of the new college football season! College fans rejoice; it's almost that time.

As we get closer to week zero, the USC Trojans have been preparing for their matchup against San Jose State. The highly favored Trojans will look to get their season off to a strong start as they welcome the Spartans to Southern California for the game.

This will be the first test for this new roster, and the Trojans know they can't take the Spartans for granted. Anytime they can play in front of the fans at the LA Coliseum is a special moment, so the Trojans should look to make a statement.

Led by reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, the Trojans are seen as one of the favorites to win the College Football Playoff this season. Prior to their game next week, San Jose State head coach Brett Brennan had some praise for the Trojans' signal-caller.

“I’ve never seen another college football player like Caleb Williams”

Per Brennan

That is high praise from the Spartans coach, but Williams is an exceptional talent. He is projected to be the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and is one of the favorites to win the Heisman yet again this season.

During his first season with USC, Williams dominated defenses. He threw for 4,537 yards and 42 touchdowns on the season. Williams also only threw five interceptions for the year as he led the Trojans to the Pac-12 Title game.

This season, it's about unfinished business for Williams and USC. They want to make up for how their season ended last year and get to the playoffs.

The offense should be extremely high-powered once again, with Williams leading the charge. And the defense should be much improved from last season.

There are high expectations for the Trojans this season, but that is what playing at USC is all about. And as they get started, San Jose State is just another roadblock in their way.
