USC Football: Colin Cowherd Compares Caleb Williams to LeBron James
The whole world will be watching what will happen with USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams. Williams has been pegged as the #1 overall pick, and many believe that he will be drafted by the Chicago Bears, who own that pick.
While plenty of critics believe that Williams going #1 overall is not the right direction, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd has compared the young QB to the likes of LeBron James.
“I’m told by NFL executives, that USC’s quarterback is the best quarterback prospect they can remember. Better than Andrew Luck … led the nation in offense despite only having one great teammate in two years … He’s a LeBron as a prospect.”

Williams is a high-level talent and any team would be lucky to land him in the draft. Williams won the Heisman Trophy in 2022 and nearly won it again this season.
He secured 4,537 yards 42 TDs, 5 INTs, 382 rushing yards, and 10 rushing TDs in 2022.
The 2023 season saw him also amass 3,633 yards, 30 TDs, 5 INTs, 136 rushing yards, and 11 rushing TDs.
Having back-to-back years like this is exactly why Williams is being compared to the likes of LeBron James. James has been a massively talented player for over 20 years, and Williams can be that for the next 10.
It will be interesting to see if the Bears choose not to draft Williams, but we would bank on them using the #1 overall pick on him, and using their second to get another weapon for him.
Williams is a hugely talented QB, and the Bears would be a bit foolish to let him go to another team.
