USC Football: Lincoln Riley Hints That Trojans Aren't Done With Signing Day

The overhaul continues.

Already having picked up a whopping 19 recruits on signing day, the Trojans appear en route to overhaul a disappointing roster that was lathered with holes top-down.

And, as per Riley's statement, there will be even "more signings of high school players," as players like 4-star cornerback Isaiah Rubin, have verbally committed, but are yet to put pen to paper. The additional signings that Riley is referring to can join the team any time from now to February of 2024.

At the moment, USC has courted 16 four-star athletes, four Under Armour All-Americans, four Polynesian Bowl All-Stars, and three All-American Bowl invitees. 14 of them will be enrolling in January and participating in spring practice.

In terms of who are potential future signings, outside of CB Isaiah Rubin, any reinforcements to the offensive line, defensive line, or secondary would be major gets.

At quarterback, the loss of Malachi Nelson also opens up a void at the position for the future, opening the door to a potential QB signing as they look to cover that ground.

In the immediate term, however, expect the Trojans to stay active in the transfer portal, especially as it pertains to adding a quarterback.

Kansas State QB Will Howard, who entered the portal recently, is all but guaranteed to become a Trojan next year. This opens up a QB competition between him and Miller Moss, who will start in the Holiday Bowl on December 27th, where D'Anton Lynn will also make his USC coaching debut.
