USC Football: Star Transfer Portal QB Names Trojans as Landing Spot

In this story:
With quarterback Caleb Williams likely leaving for the NFL next season, the USC Trojans will need a replacement for him. They have a few in-house candidates that they would look to, but with the transfer portal on fire right now, USC may look to snatch another talented guy.
It seems that the Trojans may end up landing one of the better players in the country through the transfer portal. Star quarterback Cam Ward has narrowed down his choices to four teams, with the Trojans being one of them.

It's being reported that there's only FOUR teams left with a realistic shot at landing Cam Ward:

Ward spent last season with Washington State and balled out. In 12 games with the Cougars, he threw for 3,736 yards with 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He made the Washington State offense electric and could thrive playing under head coach Lincoln Riley. Riley is known for his work with quarterbacks over the years, and Ward could be the next great one to play under him.
He has helped multiple players get to the Heisman Trophy level with his system, and Ward may be the next in line. Between the teams that he is considering, USC may make the most sense for Ward.
USC would give him a chance to stay on the West Coast but also have the chance to play in some of the biggest games around the country. Since the Trojans are moving to the Big Ten Conference, it may make sense for Ward to be interested in USC.
Ward would give the Trojans another strong option at the quarterback position and possibly increase their chances of being competitive next season. With the hire of new defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn as well, the Trojans could be on their way to getting back toward the top of college football if they were able to land Ward.
