Will the Trojans land this talented prospect?

2024 DE prospect Jaylen Harvey is one of the most prolific pass rushers in the entire country. Hailing from Maryland, the 4-star prospect has long been interested in the USC Trojans Football program.

After officially visiting the school this past June, Harvey reportedly made another trip back to the West Coast for the Aug. 26 opener versus San Jose St.

If Twitter is any indication, the visit for Harvey and his family was quite good.

Scott Schrader recently interviewed Harvey with WeAreSC.com. There were a number of things Harvey touched upon as it pertained to the official visit. Being able to immerse himself within the culture of the university and the area as a whole was significant.

Harvey was also very attentive to the coaches during the win over the Spartans:

"I wanted to see how the coaches were coaching, live. See how they coach my position. That was pretty much it. They were giving the guys who weren't playing mental reps."

The Gaithersburg native is one of the premier pass rushers out on the Eastern Seaboard. At 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds, Harvey still has the frame to gain additional weight. Even then, his bread-and-butter as an edge guy involves a lethal first step and sudden quickness.

Harvey's recruitment appears to revolve around three schools: USC, Penn State, and Maryland. The Nittany Lions always compete fiercely for any prospect in their general footprint.

It's expected that Harvey will visit both Maryland and Penn State before making his final decision, presumably at the end of the month. With that said, the visit to Los Angeles really did resonate with him:

"My interest in USC was already there, but when I went up there, I felt like I was home. I felt like I could be myself up there around the coaches and players. Out of all my official visits, USC was No. 1. The people out there in Cali are calm, cool, collected and keep to themselves. That's the kind of person I am."
