Ex-USC President Max Nikias Received $7.7 Million Package After Resigning

When former USC president Max Nikias resigned in 2018, he received a compensation package worth $7.7 million according to federal tax documents obtained by USA Today.
The package was more than three times his 2017 salary and would make him the highest-paid school president in the nation if he were still in the top job at USC. He still has an office at USC, is a professor and Life Trustee on the Board of Trustees.
USA Today also reported that USC coach Clay Helton received $4.6 million in total compensation for 2018, an increase from $3.2 million for 2017.
So Helton got paid $4.6 million to go 5-7 in 2018. You can thank Nikias and Lynn Swann for that.
University of Southern California football coach Clay Helton credited with nearly $4.6 million in total compensation for 2018 calendar year, school's new federal tax return shows.

That's up from a little more $3.2 million for 2017.
