USC Trojans Football: Caleb Williams Not Giving Up on Season Despite Back to Back Losses

He didn't hear no bell.

USC quarterback Caleb Williams expressed a resilient attitude despite the team's two most recent losses to ranked opponents in consecutive weeks.

The former Heisman Winner knows the odds are stacked against his team for even a conference title but refused to punt on the 2023 season despite the Trojans' recent form.

“We’re halfway through the season. You don’t necessarily know what’s going to happen,” Williams said. “You keep going, you keep fighting. You stay out here, extra time, and be with your guys because you never know when that opportunity is going to come. When that opportunity comes, you want to be able to seize that opportunity. So we’re going to keep going, keep fighting on and keep trying to reach our goals.”

Williams' showing against Notre Dame all but tanked his repeat Heisman hopes but his recent game against Utah may have been even more crushing.

USC failed to defeat Utah for the third straight time with Williams as their starting quarterback after the Utes walked off the Men of Troy with a game-winning field goal.

Alex Grinch's defense once again came under fire after the team allowed a Cam Rising-less Utes roster to march down the field in a two-minute drill for the game-winning kick.

Lincoln Riley's leadership also came under fire after the Trojans' head coach disallowed any player from media availability after his second straight loss.

National championship aspirations were all the university could talk about from last year's disappointing finish but now the Trojans might not even get a place in the Pac-12 title game.

Despite all these factors against them, USC's quarterback is embracing the university's motto to fight on to the end of the 2023 season no matter the outcome.
