USC Woman's Volleyball: Trojans Drop Tough Loss To Rival Bruins

At the Galen Center on Friday night, your USC Trojans women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought five-set match, 3-2, to their dreaded crosstown arch nemeses, the UCLA Bruins, according to USCTrojans.com

USC now shares an identical 18-12 record with UCLA thanks to the loss, though the Trojans boast the stronger Pac-12 record at 12-8, better than USC's 10-10 Pac-12 play. USC wraps up intra-conference play ranked fifth.

UCLA enjoyed a stronger tally of kills (67-62), attempts (155-150), hitting percentage (29.7% to 27.3%), accrued points (87-81), and assists (62-57).

As usual, 6'2" senior outside hitter Skylar Fields, a 2022 AVCA All-America First Team and 2022 Pac-12 All-Conference Team honoree, enjoyed the most prolific night. She notched 21 kills and two blocks.

Two other Trojans logged double-digit kills in the defeat.

6'1" redshirt sophomore middle linebacker Tyrah Ariail notched 13 kills, four blocks and an ace, while 5'10" freshman outside hitter London Wijay notched 11 kills, two blocks and one ace.

Tell Alex, were you in the joint the night Wilt scored 100 points? Or when the Celtics won titles back-to-back and didn't give nobody no kind of slack?
