4-star offensive lineman commits to USC, gives Trojans 5th pledge in 48 hours

Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.) offensive lineman Manasse Itete committed to USC on Monday

The hits just keep on coming — a fifth member of USC's official visitor group from last weekend has committed to the Trojans football program.

Four-star Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.) offensive lineman Manasse Itete announced his USC commitment on social media Monday.

Itete's pledge comes in the wake of three-star Cherry Creek (Englewood, Colo.) offensive lineman Hayden Treter, four-star Clearwater (Fla.) safety Jarvis Boatwright, four-star Serra (Gardena, Calif.) cornerback Dakoda Fields and four-star Booker T. Washington (Atlanta) defensive end Kameryn Fountain all verbally committing to USC within a 48 hour span.

Itete stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 290 pounds. He's the No. 143 ranked prospect nationally, according to 247Sports.com, and the No. 12 offensive tackle.

"USC is a powerhouse," Itete said. "They are doing a good job with guys at different positions, and also they're moving to the Big 10 against a lot of big dawgs. I have a great relationship with Coach Henson. He’s very different in the way he recruits guys."

Itete's pledge brings USC's 2024 recruiting class to eight members. Four-star Lakeridge (Lake Oswego, Ore.) tight end Joey Olsen, three-star McKinney (Texas) running back Bryan Jackson, four-star Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) wide receiver Xavier Jordan, Treter, Boatwright, Fields and Fountain make up the Trojans' current class.

Itete is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was also a standout basketball player at his previous high school, Modesto Christian.

Itete was considered a Florida State lean prior to his USC official visit. Oregon State and Utah were also recruiting him.
