Former Utah quarterback Nate Johnson has been on the receiving end of fans saying that he should switch positions from quarterback to receiver but has made it clear he has no interest in doing so.

This past season was Johnson's second and last with the team, and saw him get an opportunity to play a much larger role. With Cam Rising out due to a knee injury, it was a revolving door between Bryson Barnes and Johnson, with neither ever really being able to string together consistent performances. Johnson appeared in seven games completing 39 of 72 passes for 499 yards with three touchdowns (no interceptions), and also rushed for 235 yards with four touchdowns.

He added a different element to the offense with his legs, but once defenses took away the run he struggled through the air and it appeared that Andy Ludwig didn't have enough trust to open up the playbook. Many fans felt that with his speed he'd be a great receiver, but it's something he has expressed zero interest in and he made that clear when he announced he was transferring.

The California native is now at Vanderbilt, and has appeared to find humor in the position change clamors.

On Monday, which happens to be April Fools' day, he took to Twitter to announce that he was switching to receiver.

He later confirmed in the comments that he would be remaining at quarterback. In Nashville, he will be competing with New Mexico State transfer Diego Pavia for the starting role.
