Virginia baseball head coach Brian O'Connor was named to the 10-member 2024 Hall of Fame induction class by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on Wednesday. O'Connor and the other nine coaches will be inducted into the ABCA Hall of Fame, which began back in 1966, on January 5th, 2024 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

In 20 seasons at the helm of the Virginia baseball program, O'Connor has a record of 839-352-2. He is one of just eight ACC coaches to ever reach the 800-win threshold and his .704 winning percentage is the best in the country among active Division I baseball coaches. This past season, O'Connor led the Cavaliers to their sixth College World Series and each of those trips to Omaha have come since 2009.

O'Connor is one of just seven active head coaches to win a national title, coaching Virginia to the 2015 National Championship. He was named the National Coach of the Year three times, the ACC Coach of the Year five times, and the ACC Coach of the Decade for the 2010s by D1Baseball.com.

“I’m incredibly humbled by such a prestigious honor,” said O’Connor. “To enjoy the sustained success that we have had at the University of Virginia, it starts with great players. I’ve been fortunate enough to have not only great players, but tremendously loyal and dedicated assistant coaches. I can’t thank our former players, our past and present coaches enough. They all have been so integral in the success of this baseball program and I share this honor with every one of them.”
