The end of the 2023 Virginia baseball season likely corresponds with the end of the decorated three-year collegiate careers of Kyle Teel and Jake Gelof. Both players are eligible to be selected in this year's MLB Draft and both are currently projected to be drafted within the first 50 picks, corresponding to top-dollar signing bonuses.

MLB.com currently has Kyle Teel ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect and Jake Gelof as the No. 42 overall prospect in its MLB Draft Pipeline Top 300 Prospects. According to the slot values distributed from the MLB to each franchise back in April, the No. 10 overall pick is slated to receive a bonus of $5,475,300, while the No. 42 overall pick is set to receive a $2,045,900 bonus. It should be noted that teams selecting players with those draft picks won't necessarily offer a bonus exactly matching the slot value provided by the MLB, but these figures give a rough estimate of how much a player selected at each pick is expected to earn from his signing bonus.

So, where do do the experts project Kyle Teel and Jake Gelof to be drafted? Here's a sampling of projections from the latest mock drafts:

MLB.com - Jim Callis (June 16th)
Kyle Teel - No. 7 overall to the Cincinnati Reds
Jake Gelof - No. 33 overall to the Milwaukee Brewers

The Sporting News - Edward Sutelan (June 19th)
Kyle Teel - No. 8 overall to the Kansas City Royals
Jake Gelof - No. 32 overall to the New York Mets

CBS Sports - Mike Axisa (June 18th)
Kyle Teel - No. 6 overall to the Oakland Athletics
Jake Gelof - not selected in listed picks 1-28

The Athletic - Keith Law (June 20th)
Kyle Teel - No. 6 overall to the Oakland Athletics
Jake Gelof - not selected in listed picks 1-30

The 2023 MLB Draft will be held from July 9th through July 11th at Lumen Field in Seattle, during which 614 total draft selections will be made across 20 rounds. The first round will be televised on ESPN with the remainder of the draft being broadcast on MLB Network.
