UVA took down East Carolina 8-3 on Sunday night to clinch the Charlottesville Regional and advance to the Super Regional for the eighth time in program history. Duke defeated No. 10 seed Coastal Carolina 12-3 on Monday night to win the Conway Regional, setting up a three-game series rematch between the ACC rivals.

Duke caught Virginia on the back end of a slump at the end of April, taking two out of three games off the Cavaliers in Charlottesville. The Blue Devils defeated the Cavaliers 17-5 on Friday. UVA came back to win game 2 on Saturday 10-2, but Duke won the rubber match 7-3 to claim the series.

That marked UVA's third-consecutive ACC series loss. Since then, however, the Cavaliers have rediscovered their groove, ending the regular season on a nine-game winning streak and bringing a 13-1 record over their last 14 games into the Super Regional. That included a strong showing this weekend in Charlottesville Regional, beating Army 15-1 on Friday, East Carolina 2-1 on Saturday, and East Carolina again 8-3 on Sunday.

Virginia is hosting a Super Regional for the first time since 2015, the year that the Cavaliers won their first-ever national championship.
