With the Charlottesville Regional of the 2023 NCAA Baseball Tournament set to get underway on Friday at Disharoon Park, Virginia baseball head coach Brian O'Connor met with the media on Thursday to preview the regional. Watch the video below to hear O'Connor's comments on Virginia hosting a NCAA Tournament regional for the first time since 2016, the decision to start Brian Edgington on the mound for UVA's opening game against Army on Friday, the tournament history that Virginia has with Army, Oklahoma, and East Carolina, and his expectations for the crowd and environment at Disharoon Park this weekend:

Virginia will open the 2023 NCAA Baseball Tournament against Army on Friday at 12pm at Disharoon Park and streamed on ESPN+. The winner of that game will face the winner of East Carolina vs. Oklahoma (Friday at 7pm) on Saturday. Virginia, Army, East Carolina, and Oklahoma will play a double-elimination round-robin tournament until three of the four teams have suffered two losses and the one remaining team is crowned as the Charlottesville Regional champ and advances to the Super Regional round.
