Reece Beekman Returns for 2nd Year of Local McDonald's Partnership

After testing the waters of the NBA Draft, Reece Beekman is back to lead the Virginia men's basketball team for his senior year. In doing so, Beekman will also become the first UVA athlete to return for a second year partnering with local McDonald's franchises owned and operated by RAHE Inc. Cav Futures, UVA's alumni-driven NIL collective, announced Beekman as the second of three UVA athletes to partner with local McDonald's franchises for this academic year.

The second year of Beekman's partnership with McDonald's will continue his social media collaborations and community service events as well appearances at participating local McDonald's locations and the Ronald McDonald House, but it will also expand to include an TV commercial that will premiere next week.
“I have really enjoyed being involved with the Ronald McDonald House for the past year,” said Beekman, “So I’m excited to continue that partnership. The cause is amazing and being able to give back to the Charlottesville community is very important to me.”
Beekman is the second UVA athlete to partner with McDonald's for this academic year, joining incoming freshman women's basketball player Kymora Johnson, who had her McDonald's partnership announced last week. CavFutures will unveil the third and final athlete prior to the Virginia football season-opener against Tennessee on September 2nd. Former UVA athletes who partnered with local McDonald's franchises in the past include Brennan Armstrong and Rebecca Jarrett.
Beekman, who was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in the 2022-2023 men's basketball season, has worked with CavFutures since June of 2022 and will continue to do so through his fourth and final year at the University of Virginia.
“Getting to know Reece as we’ve worked with him over the past year has been a pleasure and it’s clear that he wants to represent the basketball program well," said Lod Davis, Executive Director of CavFutures. "He is great to watch on the court, but he is also the type of guy who wants to be a contributing factor in making his community a better place."
