Virginia point guard Reece Beekman participated in the CP3 Elite Guard Camp this week in Los Angeles and left a big impression as he performed at a high level against some of the best guards in the sport. The event, organized by 12-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul, brings together some of the top guards in college basketball, including incoming freshmen and returning college players. Chris Paul and other NBA players serve as instructors at the camp.

No matter who he was facing, Beekman was flat-out phenomenal this week at the camp. According to ESPN NBA Draft analyst Jonathan Givony, Beekman was one of the top performers of the camp, unsurprisingly locking down nearly every guard he was charged with defending, but also scoring at a high level with the ball in his hands.

In the beginning of Givony's video posted to Twitter, Beekman can be seen playing lockdown defense on Coby White, a former Tar Heel and No. 7 overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft who currently plays for the Chicago Bulls.

"Virginia's Reece Beekman put the clamps on everyone he matched up with, including NBA players, along with his versatile all-around game at the Chris Paul Elite guard camp," Givony said. "Looks en route to a big senior year."

A big senior year is exactly why Reece Beekman chose to come back to Virginia for one final season after testing the waters of the NBA Draft. After winning ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2022-2023, Beekman will look to maintain his place as one of the top defenders in the country while, more importantly, asserting himself on the offensive end as he takes the keys as Virginia's primary point guard.
