Former Virginia wide receiver Ra'Shaun Henry has signed with the Cleveland Browns, the team announced on Monday morning.

After going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, Henry signed with the Carolina Panthers. He spent time on the practice squads of both the Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons in his rookie season, but has yet to make his NFL debut.

Now, Henry will look to break into the Cleveland Browns' wide receiver depth chart. The Browns' wide receiver room features Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Marquise Goodwin, Cedric Tillman, and David Bell, so Henry will have his work cut out for him, but he could work his way into a solid role on their practice squad for the 2023 season.

Henry played two seasons at Virginia after transferring from Saint Francis in 2020. In 21 games as a Cavalier, Henry totaled seven touchdowns and 809 receiving yards. In 2021, Henry recorded 34 catches for 603 yards and three touchdowns, one of five UVA receivers with at least 500 receiving yards that season.

The Cleveland Browns have made a habit out of signing UVA alums in the last few months, as Ra'Shaun Henry is the third former Cavalier football player to sign with the franchise this offseason. The Browns signed former Virginia safety and two-time Super Bowl Champion Juan Thornhill to a three-year, $21 million contract in March and then Cleveland brought in another former UVA safety in Rodney McLeod in May.
