Grading the Falcons’ New Uniforms: Atlanta Rises Up With Refreshed Threads for 2026

In this story:
The Falcons are ushering in a new era in 2026.
Following up a trifecta of hires in president of football Matt Ryan, general manager Ian Cunningham, and head coach Kevin Stefanski, Atlanta announced on Thursday morning a brand new set of uniforms heading into the upcoming campaign.
This is the Falcons’s second uniform overhaul since 2009—when they debuted their Ryan-era threads that added a modern spin to what the likes of Michael Vick, Warrick Dunn, Algae Crumpler, and the rest of the Dirty Birds were donning to kick off the millennium.
Here’s a complete breakdown, along with a grade for the new kits.
Falcons “rise up” with new uniform set in 2026

The Falcons are going back to the basics after trying their hand at a modern look over the past several seasons, opting for flat jersey colors while introducing a stripe design on the pants.
Said stripe is inspired by the team’s inaugural 1996 uniform and, “traces the lineage of red and black as a sleek sliver of silver carries it forward.”
Home jerseys

Atlanta’s home jerseys carry the “power of Red” with a Falcons logo on each shoulder, a sleek “Falcons” word mark on the front, and a brand new number design that’s bold—while also introducing “forward-leaning angles” to enhance legibility.
Away jerseys

Their road jerseys—a crisp white—feature the same Falcons logos and bold numbers while sporting an “Atlanta” wordmark across the chest, bringing their home city “everywhere we go.”
Both their black and white pants, with the aforementioned stripe, are interchangeable across the team's home and away kits.
Helmets

The Falcons will debut a refreshed helmet in 2026, featuring low-gloss black paint, a silver facemask, and a new bumper with a winged “ATL” logo on the front.
The back will feature their updated numbers along with their "Falcons" wordmark.
Throwback uniforms

Good news, football fans! The Falcons’ black throwback uniforms and red helmets will remain in 2026, with the team allowed to wear them up to four times this season—per NFL rule.
The verdict
Atlanta does a nice job here at blending the past, present and future. The new, block numbers are far better than what they were donning before, the written-out word marks—as opposed to the awkwardly large ATL they wore prior—are much cleaner, and the winged logo on the helmet bumper adds a unique touch to an otherwise rudimentary uniform set.
My only gripe is the lack of pizazz on the shoulders. While some teams go too far with it (see: the Titans prior to their latest change), the Falcons could have implemented a subtle shoulder stripe to give their otherwise rudimentary red and white jerseys a bit more character.
Grade: B+
