Virginia Men's and Women's Tennis Teams Win ACC Regular Season Championships

It was an historic weekend for the Virginia tennis program. UVA men's tennis completed the ACC regular season undefeated for the fourth year in a row, claiming its 17th ACC regular season title in the process, while Virginia women's tennis finished tied for first place in the final standings with North Carolina, earning a share of the ACC regular season title for just the second time in program history.

For the Virginia men, it has been utter dominance over the entire Atlantic Coast Conference, particularly in outdoor matches. The Cavaliers have won 50-consecutive ACC matches, including going 12-0 in ACC play in each of the last four seasons, and have not lost an outdoor match since the 2021 NCAA Championship Round of 16. Seniors Inaki Montes, Chris Rodesch, Alexander Kiefer, and Jeffrey von der Schulenburg will end their careers having never lost an ACC match.

Virginia will now take aim at a fourth-consecutive ACC Tournament Championship and 16th tournament title in program history. The Cavaliers are, of course, the No. 1 seed in the 2024 ACC Men's Tennis Championship, which is being held at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. UVA has a double-bye into the quarterfinals and will take on the winner of No. 8 seed Notre Dame and No. 9 seed Clemson on Friday at 10am.

UVA women's tennis defeated Florida State 4-2 on Sunday at Boar's Head to conclude the regular season with a 12-1 record in the ACC. The Cavaliers clinched a share of the regular season title with the win, as both Virginia and North Carolina finished 12-1 and thus, are ACC Regular Season Co-Champions. UVA is a regular season co-champion for the first time since 2014.

North Carolina won the head-to-head meeting with Virginia, so the Tar Heels will have the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament, while the Cavaliers will be the No. 2 seed. The 2024 ACC Women's Tennis Championship will also be held at the Cary Tennis Park. UVA has a double bye into the quarterfinals and will face the winner of No. 7 seed Notre Dame and No. 10 Syracuse on Friday at 6pm.
