Final: Wake Forest wins 71-59

  • Andrew Carr: 14 pts, 5 reb, 6-9 FG
  • Daivien Williamson: 14 pts, 8-10 FT
  • Cameron Hildreth: 14 pts, 2 stl
  • Bobi Klintman: 11 pts, 6 reb

Second Half, Under 4 (3:23): Wake Forest leads 56-51

  • High-fives and claps all around, with 45 seconds on the clock, Wake Forest goes to the line up 12
  • Bobi offensive rebound, kicks to Williamson for a three; absolutely massive play there for the Deacs, can run some clock up 11
  • Steal by Cam, a little sneaky foul drawn (seems like he's drawn a million today), and Wake Forest goes right to the line; 2-2 from line
  • Appleby tucked the ball and drove to the rim, what a play
  • Another big 2 points from the line for Appleby

Second Half, Under 8 (7:28): Wake Forest leads 48-42

  • What a dribble-drive by Cam Hildreth, simply willed his way to the bucket
  • This is when it pays off to be in the double bonus - close game, a foul on the other side of the court, and Wake gets to walk to the line
  • After a 9-2 Fairfield run, Forbes calls a timeout; Stags within 1 under 6
  • Big 2 FT's from Appleby following the Fairfield 3

Second Half, Under 12 (11:01): Wake Forest leads 42-34

  • Huge three from the top of the key by Keller; Joel got loud on that one
  • Wake leaving T.J. Long way too open outside the three-point line, he drains another
  • With that foul, Wake Forest is already in the double-bonus; good sign for the Deacs heading down the stretch, LOTS of FTs
  • Bad steal on Carr and Fairfield drains a three; only a 5-point lead for Wake now

Second Half, Under 16 (15:56): Wake Forest leads 37-29

  • Alley-oop Appleby to Klintman, came off a great steal by the former Gator
  • Deeeeep buzzer-beating three by Fairfield after some great defense by Wake
  • Bradford, who has played pretty solid D tonight, gets beat bad in the paint and commits his third foul of the night
  • Fairfield, down 11, calls a timeout
  • Beautiful move by Carr to evade two paint defenders, puts the ball in off the glass
  • Good D in the paint by Bradford, then grabs the rebound

Second Half, First 4 (20:00): Wake Forest leads 32-25

  • There's a Carr dunk off the offensive rebound
  • Fairfeld cannot hit their FTs right now; 6-13 on the night
  • Forbes rather displeased with the no foul call on Carr's drive, then a foul on the other end by Taylor
  • Beautiful no-look pass from Appleby to Bradford in paint, draws a foul; 2-2 from line
  • Davion Bradford strong in paint, gets off reb and draws a fouls; 1-2 from line

Halftime: Wake Forest leads Fairfield 32-25

  • 10-0 run to end the half
  • Andrew Carr: 10 pts, 4-6 FG
  • Cameron Hildreth: 7 pts
  • Bobi Klintman: 6 pts, 1-1 3PT, 3 reb
  • Lucas Taylor: 4 reb

First Half, Under 4 (3:58): Fairfield leads 25-22

  • With Fairfield able to take the shot to end the half, Wake Forest makes a key stop on the dribble drive; big swing at the end for the Deacs
  • That three marks a 10-0 run for Wake Forest; lead by 7
  • Bobi with a clean three from the top of the key; that's the loudest I've heard the Joel get all night
  • 7-0 run here for the Deacs; they now lead by 4
  • What an offensive rebound by Hildreth, Wake Forest retakes the lead for the first time since the 11:29 mark
  • With their fouling, Wake is extremely fortunate that Fairfield is missing FTs
  • On that foul, Davion Bradford did not need to jump in the air; Klintman had his man rather locked up, and had backside help
  • Daivien Williamson with two swishes from the free-throw line; Deacs within 1

First Half, Under 8 (7:48): Fairfield leads 20-15

  • 12 of Fairfield's 23 points have come from the bench; 4 of 20 on the other side for Wake
  • That's the third charge called on Wake; Forbes can't believe it
  • Two missed free throws by Fairfield's Supreme Cook; tough spot
  • Forbes calls in an inbound play and it works to perfection; Bobi Klintman gets his first NCAA points on a cut to the paint
  • Big three from Lucas Taylor after a defensive stand; Wake within three

First Half, Under 12 (11:26): Fairfield leads 9-7

  • Heading into the under-8, Deacs are 6-17 on FG; simply have to hit more shots
  • Tough charge called on Hildreth, was making another drive at the hoop; Forbes looks unhappy with call on bench
  • Some crazy three going in for Fairfield right now; not much the D can do
  • Cam Hildreth has looked strong driving to the hoop, snags a good layup
  • Daivien Williamson hits hit first bucket of the night, a three-pointer
  • Carr hits a three to kill WF's bad streak; he's 4-5
  • Fairfield enters segment on 7-0 run over the last minute

First Half, Under 16 (15:41): Wake Forest leads 5-2

  • Big stat: WF 0-6 on 3-pts
  • 3-pt shot with a chance for an and-one for Fairfield, they take the lead; ugly stretch for Wake Forest, especially on offense
  • 2nd time Marsh has been beat in the paint in his short time in the game
  • Damari Monsanto making an impact on the boards, now has 3 DR
  • Carr with another layup, he has all 7 of Wake's points
  • Huge defensive stop for the Deacs, forcing a shot clock violation
  • Neither team has scored in over 4 minutes
  • Wake Forest has been quick to double the picks up top

First Half, First 4 (20:00): 0-0

  • On offense, Fairfield is using up a lot of the shot clock, forcing Wake to grind out stops
  • Wake Forest currently 0-3 from behind the three-point line to start the game; offense has stalled a bit
  • Keller with really nice D in the paint against a veteran Supreme Cook
  • F Davion Bradford gets an early two fouls, in comes freshman Zach Keller
  • Something to note: G Tyree Appleby is playing the 1, thus being the primary ball carrier up the court
  • An alley-oop to Carr; he's establishing himself in the paint early
  • Nice inbound play to Andrew Carr, who finishes and gets the and-one
