It appears Steve Forbes might have a penchant for overseas recruiting, as he's just landed 6-8, 200-pound small forward Marqus Mitrovic Marion out of Denmark.

Marion is unranked by 247Sports, but has a four-star rating by On3. He chose the Deacs over offers from Marquette, Xavier, Boston College and Dayton, among others. Wake Forest offered Marion back in November 2022, and he took an official visit on Jan. 10 about a month before committing on Feb. 7.

Marion has spent the last three seasons playing for Danish club BMS Herlev, where he averages 17.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.6 steals 1.4 assists per game in 2022-2023. He's shooting an efficient 56.0% from the field and 38.6% from long range so far. Watching him on tape, Marion excels at getting to the rack and knocking down threes off the catch-and-shoot.

“I would describe my game as a very versatile player,” Marion said in a recent interview. “I can play one through four, as well as defend one through four. I’m also a very hard worker and a coachable guy, so I’m sure I can develop the right way at Wake.”

This is the second commitment out of Europe in as many years for Steve Forbes, as the Deacs landed Bobi Klintman out of Sweden during the last recruiting cycle. Marion has the potential to grow into a key contributor on both ends of the floor for Wake Forest in the seasons to come.
