Now that spring practice has wrapped up, it's officially full-on recruiting season for Washington's coaching staff. As they start to set up official visits for the months of May and June, three targets that are high on the recruiting staff's boards have cut their list and included the Huskies.

The first is local four-star Rahshawn Clark, who is being recruited on both sides of the ball. A product of Federal Way High School, Clark can play both receiver and defensive back, although it sounds like the coaching staff prefers him on the defensive side of the ball.

After securing a commitment from one of the top players in the state of Washington in three-star quarterback EJ Caminong, Clark could be next to continue the "Loyal to the Soil" movement the coaching staff has been pushing. He's stated his intentions to commit in the spring or summer, and will likely take all of his official visits before doing so.

Next is four-star offensive lineman Paki Finau from Oak Hills, California. He's taken multiple unofficial visits to Washington, including one for the spring preview.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound lineman has already set up four official visits for the month of June, and Washington currently has the final scheduled visit, which is always a good sign in the recruiting world. With the versatility to play tackle or guard, he would be a top-flight addition to Scott Huff's offensive line class.

Finally, there's four-star wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer from Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California. Wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard was touted as an elite recruiter when he arrived at Washington. He pulled in a very good class in 2023, headlined by four-star prospects Rashid Williams and Taeshaun Lyons, and has a chance to further his success in 2024.

Gilmer, who has field-stretching speed, would be a great fit for the Huskies if they can secure his services. He hasn't set a timeline or any official visits yet, but it seems very likely that he'll return to Washington at some point this summer before announcing his his commitment.

“I had a great visit there and really like [coach JaMarcus Shaphard]," he said in an interview with 247 Sports' Greg Biggins. "I love his energy and he’s a great coach and is recruiting me really hard. I love their offense, too, and I think I would fit in really well there. I like coach DeBoer, too, and he turned the program around really quick. They won 11 games last year and I think he's ready to take the program to another level as he keeps bringing in his own players."

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
